...TRUST THE PROCESS...

Important Note: This procedure may trigger cold sores. If you have had an outbreak in the past, please ensure you use *antiviral medications before and after the procedure for best healed results. *This is not a medical advice, please contact your doctor for more information regarding managing cold sores.

  • Immediately after the procedure, swelling & bruising are common side effects and will subside in 24-48 hours. Ice packs are a nice relief for swelling and bruising.

  • Day 1: As soon as you get home, please wash your lips with baby soap/mild soap to prevent lymph build up and apply the given ointment. Apply all recommended products with an applicator/earbud. If the area must be touched with hands, wash hands before and after touching the procedure area.

  • Day 1-3: Wash your lips after each meal for the first 3 days to prevent an infection. Apply ointment after each wash. Avoid dyed food/drinks (colour change possible), Alcohol/smoking (permanent discolouration), Lip Makeup (may cause infection). Must eat with spoon & drink hot drinks such as hot coffee, hot tea, hot water etc with plastic/silicon straw.

  • Day 2: Too bright, just like lipstick look. Swelling should have subsided. Shape should be fully visible.

  • Day 3-4: The brightness will fully fade as if nothing was done. There is also a possibility of itching, light scabbing, and dry tightness. Apply aftercare ointment with an applicator to keep the lips protected while it heals and to soothe any discomfort such as itching or dryness.

  • For the first week, apply aftercare ointment everytime you feel the lips is drying out. Lips must NOT dry out.

  • Anytime after Day 4, the lips will start to appear contrasting (dark/light). The darker areas will get darker and lighter areas will appear lighter than they were before the procedure. This is completely Normal, please prepare yourself mentally for this stage. DO NOT PANIC. These are NOT the final results. Please be patient, it takes about two months to see results. The skin underneath takes time to heal. Waiting is the only way.

  • Week 1: After the outer skin is completely sealed, you may go back to your regular routine.

  • Week 8 onwards: Depending on how dark the lips are, the lips will start to feel lighter and brighter. Touchup can be done. Colour would have faded upto 60% making the lips look natural.

  • If your lips are on the darker side, visible difference may no appear until the second session is healed.

  • Colour change or colour loss: As the procedure area heals, the color will lighten and sometimes seem to disappear in places. This can be addressed during the touch up appointment, which is why touch up appointments are necessary. The procedure area must heal completely before we can address any concerns. Minimum Healing Time is two months.
