lip micropigmentation

What is Lip Micropigmentation?

Lip Micropigmentation is a procedure that enhances natural lip shape

to create definition, fixes asymmetrical lips, & boosts lip colour.

I dont' prefer "lipstick-look', can it be more natural?

The lip colour looks solid soon after the procedure

but will fade by 40-60% after they are fully healed.

The healed results will look more natural like tinted lips.

Can Lip Micropigmentation correct Dark/Hyperpigmented/Uneven

toned lips?

YES!! But will need two (or more) sessions.

First session we will is performed to colour correct lips and cancel out

the dark tones. This session is performed with an orange based colour,

no other colour can be used in this session. The darker the lips, the more

sessions one will need to lighten or even out the colour.

When healed (at 8 weeks), most if not all of the darkness in your lips will be covered and your lips will have a pink tone.

*Results cannot be guaranteed and vary by individual.

How long does this last?

This lasts upto 5 years depending on your health, skin type, lifestyle and aftercare.

Does the procedure hurt?

Pain depends on the person's pain tolerance. Numbing cream is used throughout the procedure to manage pain.

If you are sensitive to pain, you may take paracetamol such as Crocin Pain Relief or Dolo 650 (NOT Ibuprofen) half hour before your appointment.

DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any blood thinners (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Niacin) 24- 48 hours before your procedure, this will make the skin sensitive and also causes excess bleeding, swelling, bruising which in turn may affect your healed results.

For women, you may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle.

What are the side effects and risks?

Swelling is the common side effect and will subside in 24 hours. Ice packs are a nice relief.

There is also a possibility of itching, light scabbing, and dry tightness. Apply aftercare ointment with an applicator to keep the lips protected while it heals and to soothe any discomfort such as itching or dryness.

For the first week, apply ointment as needed to keep lips from drying out.

I have never had cold sores in my entire life, am I still at risk?

This procedure may trigger cold sores even if you've never had one in the past. If you have had an outbreak in the past, it is highly recommended to use *antiviral medications 3 days before and 3 days after the procedure for best healed results.

*This is not a medical advice, please contact your doctor for more information regarding managing cold sores.

What can I do to prepare for my appointment?

  • Lips must be moist and easy to work with. Please ensure you stay hydrated.

  • Lips must be exfoliated on the previous night of your appointment. Coconut oil and sugar makes a good scrub or you can use toothpaste and brush to remove all dead skin.

are touch ups mandatory?

Touch up is highly recommended and adds extra lifespan to the procedure. The procedure area has to heal completely before we can address any concerns.

As the initial procedure area heals, the colour will lighten and sometimes seem to disappear in certain area. This can be addressed during the 8 week touch up appointment.

We can also alter the shape (when possible) or adjust colour in this session.

After the touch up, Aftercare has to be followed for best results.

How often are touch ups required?

We recommend the first touch up 8 weeks after the initial procedure, after that touchups can be done as per your preference.

How long is the recovery?

There is no downtime following the treatment. For the procedure area to completely heal it takes about 8 weeks.

How long is each session?

4 hours for initial procedure which includes paperwork, numbing, predraw and procedure. 2-3 hours for first touch up.

Can I get a lip micropigmentation if I have a lip filler?

Yes! Lip filler does not interfere with this process or the results. Lip fillers can be done two weeks before or after the lip micropigmentation procedure.

I have my lips micropigmentation elsewhere, can you do a touch up?

No. Every artist has their own style, we will not be providing touch up services for other artist's work.
